Experience the hope and promise of a new day as ACS presents Dan Forrest’s Lux: The Dawn from on High.

This five-movement work explores various facets of LUX (Latin for “light”), in texts ranging from ancient liturgical chant to Scripture to modern secular love poetry. The music of LUX, written in 2018, was inspired thematically and spiritually by these profound texts; visually by the light in the Reims Cathedral in France and at the Poulnabrone Dolmen in Ireland; and musically by a variety of musical sources from ancient chant to modern minimalist composers.

This program features the Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, directed by David Weigert.

All attendees must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and wear a mask at all times.

As a non-profit performing arts organization, ACS strongly believes that financial capacity should never be a barrier to experiencing quality choral programming. That’s why we have proudly adopted a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN pricing model for this concert.

Our suggested price for each seat is $30 (all seats are General Admission), but we invite you to pay the amount that is affordable for you - whether that be more or less. When our patrons pay whatever they can, it allows us to bring our music to more people, while remaining financially healthy. Online ticket sales will be available until 3PM on Saturday.
Tickets will be sold at the door, subject to availability, starting at 6:30 PM.

Following the performance, ACS will host its biggest fundraiser, the annual Silent Auction. Support ACS and local businesses by bidding on items and packages offered by Alexandria's finest. The evening will end with the raffle of a Getaway Package in Virginia Beach - purchase your raffle tickets today!

Visit our Getaway Raffle page for more information and to purchase tickets.
