Convergence

We opened our 49th season in October with Silence for Silence, a program celebrating quiet expressions of faith, hope, and love. This somewhat introspective program featured works like Kim André Arnesen’s Even When He is Silent, an a cappella setting of anonymous WW2-era poetry extolling faith in the sun, in love, and in God amidst darkness, loneliness, and silence, Will Todd’s The Call of Wisdom, an uplifting composition for mixed chorus and organ based on text excerpted from Proverbs 8, and William Averitt’s The Deepness of the Blue, a sublime multi-movement setting of Langston Hughes poetry for mixed chorus and piano four-hands.
