PRO CORO ALEXANDRIA'S SPRING CONCERT: The Skies Above

 

Join the Alexandria Choral Society’s chamber ensemble, Pro Coro Alexandria, as they present a program entitled ‘The Skies Above’ on Saturday, April 22nd at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria. 

 

This celestial-themed program features a cappella works by Kate Rusby (Underneath the Stars), Shawn Kirchner (Unclouded Day, Angel Band, and Heavenly Home), Toh Xin Long (The Cloud), Charles Wood (Hail, Gladdening Light), and Josef Rheinberger (Mass in Eb). 

 

Rheinberger’s Mass in Eb, his ‘Cantus Missae,’ is a stunning mass for double choir that honors the Renaissance and Baroque writing preceding its inception, while leaning into undeniably Romantic styling to and through its final ‘Dona nobis pacem.’
