In the midst of winter's darkness, when the world feels heavy with the weight of uncertainty, we gather to proclaim an ancient truth: even the weariest world can find reason to rejoice. Experience a moving celebration of light in the darkness at the Alexandria Choral Society’s concert, The Weary World Rejoices, on Saturday, December 13th at 4:00 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In a season often marked by stillness and uncertainty, this powerful program offers a musical journey from lament to hope, from weariness to wonder.

Featuring selections from Mozart’s Requiem, including the profound “Lacrimosa” and powerful "Dies Irae," join us as we explore how genuine joy emerges, not in spite of our struggles, but through them.  As we journey toward the heart of the season, beloved classics like O Holy Night take on new meaning—not as mere tradition, but as beacons of hope in a world that desperately needs them. The gentle lullaby of A La Nanita Nana offers comfort, while Elgar's The Snow paints winter's quiet beauty.

Join us as we discover together through song that the most profound joy often comes when we need it most.

As a non-profit performing arts organization, ACS strongly believes that financial capacity should never be a barrier to experiencing quality choral programming. That’s why we have proudly adopted a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN pricing model for this concert.

Our suggested price for each seat is $30 (all seats are General Admission), but we invite you to pay the amount that is affordable for you - whether that be more or less. When our patrons pay whatever they can, it allows us to bring our music to more people, while remaining financially healthy.
